2008 Camp Meeting Speakers and Schedule

July 20 - August 1, 2008

The 2008 Stoutsville Camp Meeting will begin on Sunday, July 20 with a 6:00 pm service in the Main Tabernacle. Stoutsville Camp is located approximately 5 miles east of Circleville, Ohio on Stoutsville Pike. See map page for driving directions.
 
Camp Meeting Speakers

Dr. Tom Hermiz     (July 20-22)
Dr. Tom Hermiz is a native of Endicott, New York. He earned the Bachelor of Theology degree from Circleville Bible College (Ohio) in 1960 and pursued further work in administration of Ohio State University and in theology at Vennard College (Iowa). George Fox Evangelical Seminary (Oregon) honored him with the Doctor of Divinity degree in 1975. He is an evangelist in the Church of Christ in Christian Union.
 
Tim Burden     (July 23)
Tim Burden is the son of Rev. Mark & Leora Burden. Saved at an early age, Tim was called to preach as a teenager. He graduated from Ohio Northern University with a BA in Psychology. He received his Master in Biblical Studies from Melodyland School of Theology and a Master of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary. Tim has served at Bluffton Trinity UMC, Mills Memorial UMC, Etna UMC, Sharonville UMC, and Van Wert Trinity UCM. Tim, along with his wife Elizabeth (Beth), have served as missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Amsterdam where Tim served as Discipleship Training School Director for three years. The Burdens have four children: Rachel (Youth Pastor), Matt (YWAM Missionary), David (College Student), and Jonathon (High School Student).
 
Hubert Herriman     (July 24-27)
Dr. Hubert Harriman, president of World Gospel Mission, was born and raised in Bolivia, South America, where his parents were missionaries with WGM. He earned his B.A. from Vennard College before doing graduate work at Jerusalem University College, and then earned an M.A. from Anderson School of Theology.

In 2004, Wesley Biblical Seminary conferred on Dr. Harriman an honorary doctorate. Dr. Harriman and his wife, Sarah, have three grown daughters, a granddaughter, and two grandsons. Dr. Harriman pastored Ligonier Evangelical Church for 26 years. He also served as superintendent of the East Central Conference of the Evangelical Church for two years before becoming the fifth president of WGM in June 2002. He has been a frequent speaker at church revivals, youth camps, camp meetings, seminars, retreats, conferences, and campaigns, in the United States and internationally.

 
Dr. Roy Lauter     (July 28-August 1)
Dr. Roy Lauter is a teacher, preacher, and missionary. As pastor of New Hope Community Church in New Washington, Indiana, he developed a vision of reaching the world with the Gospel, and so was born New Hope International Ministries. New Hope is now based at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, where Roy taught in the teacher education department for 33 years, retiring in 2005. He now spends his time preaching in camp meetings, revivals, and missions conferences across the country and around the world. Roy is the Chairman of the Board of World Gospel Mission. He and his wife, Sue, live in Wilmore, where Sue has an extensive ministry of her own. They have a married daughter and two grandsons.
 
Ed Groff, Bible Teacher    
Rev. Ed Groff attended Asbury College and United Theological Seminary. He has pastored for more than 26 years and currently serves as Senior Pastor at Wayne Street UMC in St. Marys, Ohio where he lives with wife, Mary. Ed also served as Stoutsville Camp Meeting President for many years. Children are John and Rachel.
 
Rev. Charles Dautermann, Director of Music
Charles previously served as Professor of Music at Circleville Bible College. Charlie was previously the worship leader and minister of music at Lancaster First Church of the Nazarene and the Director of Worship Arts and Information Technology Services at Faith Memorial Church. He also teaches private voice lessons and continues to be the guest clinician at choir retreats, choral and vocal technique workshops as well as song evangelist at numerous camp meetings throughout the central United States. He earned his degree in church music from Olivet Nazarene University and has studied with such notable vocal teachers as Westin Nobel, Dr. D. George Dunbar, Joseph Nobel, Ray Holcomb, Naomi Larsen and Dr. Scott Martin.

Charlie will be the Stoutsville Camp Meeting Music Leader and will be joined by Stoutsville Camp Meeting’s very own, organist Lisa Leonard and Pianist Ruth Clark. The ever-popular Stoutsville Camp Choir will be back as well! We will also have special musical guests throughout camp meeting. Announcements will be made during camp.
